A$AP Rocky will be honored with the inaugural Tribeca X Filmmaker of the Year Award at the 25th annual Tribeca Festival on Tuesday, June 9.

Tribeca Festival cofounder Jane Rosenthal will present Rocky’s award at Spring Studios in NYC. The Harlem native is being honored for his work at the intersection of music, fashion, film and brand-supported storytelling.

Rocky has been busy with endeavors outside the studio, as he currently serves as the creative director for Ray-Ban, Puma’s creative director for the brand’s partnership with F1 and runs his AWGE creative agency.

“Tribeca X was built to celebrate the creators reshaping modern storytelling,” said Tribeca Enterprises CEO Rebecca Glashow. “Today’s cultural landscape is being defined by artists and entrepreneurs who push creative boundaries across mediums and industries. A$AP Rocky represents the kind of genre-defying visionary the inaugural Tribeca X Filmmaker of the Year Award was created to honor.”

She continued: “Today, brands and creators are not only shaping culture — they are producing, financing and distributing premium entertainment. As storytelling continues to evolve across platforms and technologies, Tribeca X celebrates the artists and innovators building entirely new models for creative and commercial success.”

Rocky’s currently on the road for his Don’t Be Dumb World Tour, which will hit Philly later this week before returning home to NYC, where he’ll headline Governors Ball on June 7.

Tribeca X will also host the FADE Session on June 8, which will pit Roc Nation’s Emory Jones, director Eric “Ptah” Herbert and Puma’s Chief Johnson in conversation with Billboard‘s Carl Lamarre for a discussion about the trio’s forthcoming short film.

Additional speakers who have been announced to participate in the Broader Program at Tribeca X include Cedric the Entertainer, Taylor Rooks, Aurora James and KPop Demon Hunters writers Danya Jimenez and Hannah McMechan.

Tickets for the two-day Tribeca X summit are currently available on Tribeca’s website.
